Genomicist are graduates of higher studies in Biology/ Genomics PhD and/or Fellowship training certificates (eg. FHGSA, FFSc, FRACP, FRCPA etc) or its equivalent

1. Strong scientific background in biology, molecular mechanisms and functional studies of genes and proteins
2. Expertise with variant assessment, classification, curation and assignment of pathogenicity
3. Basic knowledge of database structures, programming or scripting languages
4. Ability to develop, manage and maintain internal and external relationships
5. Excellent skills in facilitation and meeting leadership
6. Excellent written and verbal communications skills
7. Familiarity working with clinical pathology services

The tuition fee for BS in Biology range from P20,000 – P25,000 per semester , MS in Biology from P4,000 – P9,000 per semester, PhD in Education Area of Concentration in Biology Education cost P31,000 for a full program.

Agribusiness

Genomicist/geneticist may gain experience and pursue further studies to become Genetic counselors, who specialize in prenatal counseling, work with clients born with a genetic condition or counsel parents of children born with such a condition. They may also become Genetic pathologists.
